This policy explains how Elz Collision Centre Pty Limited (trading as Elz Collision Centre, "we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
We ask for as little as possible — only what we need to reply to you. There are two forms on this website:
- Messages sent through the contact form — your name, a phone number and/or an email address, whether your message is about repair progress or is a general question, your message, and — only if you choose to enter one — a vehicle registration or claim/reference number.
- Job applications — your name, phone number, email address, the role you are applying for, your experience, availability and earliest start, your trade qualification and driver licence status if you choose to answer, a short note about your work, and a resume file if you attach one.
The registration or reference field is optional. It is there only so we can identify which vehicle or job you are asking about before we reply, and it is used for nothing else. Leave it blank and we will simply ask when we contact you.
We deliberately do not ask for your date of birth, home address, payment details or any identity documents through this website, and the form does not ask you to describe damage, request a quote or upload photographs. If we need anything further to progress a repair or an application, we will ask you for it directly.
This website does not require an account, does not set tracking or advertising cookies, and does not run analytics.
2. Information collected automatically
To stop automated abuse of the forms, our server temporarily processes the IP address of anyone submitting one, purely to count requests and block flooding. These counts are held in memory for a short window and are not written to a database, linked to your submission, or used to identify you. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.
3. How your information travels (and what we don’t do)
When you press send, your submission is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and delivered directly to our business email inbox using Brevo, a transactional email service. Nothing you submit is saved in a database on this website — the website passes your message on and keeps no copy. A resume you attach is passed straight through as an email attachment and is never written to the website’s storage.
If you give us an email address, we also send a short automatic confirmation to it so you have a record that your message arrived. It confirms your submission only — we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing email. If you contact us by phone number only, no confirmation email is sent.
Once delivered, your message lives in our business mailbox like any other email, where we manage it in line with this policy.
4. Why we collect it
- To reply to your message and, where you have asked, update you on a repair.
- To identify the vehicle or job your message relates to.
- To liaise with your insurer where you ask us to assist with a claim.
- To assess your job application and contact you about roles.
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party marketing.
5. Who else handles it
Limited service providers process data on our behalf to make this website work:
- Brevo (email delivery) — headquartered in the European Union, with processing that may occur outside Australia.
- Render (website hosting) — a hosting provider based in the United States, which serves this website but does not store your form submissions.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used on this site are served by Google. Your browser requests them directly, which means Google receives your IP address and basic request information. No cookies are set by this and we receive nothing from it.
Our star rating and review count are shown as plain text that we check and type in by hand, together with the date we last checked them. The reviews section does not automatically retrieve information from our Google Business Profile. There is no Google integration, no embedded reviews widget and no automatic feed. Nothing is sent to Google when you view the reviews section — only if you choose to follow the link to our profile, at which point you leave this site and Google's own terms and privacy policy apply.
Because of this, your information may be transmitted through servers located overseas (such as the EU and the US) on its way to our inbox. We choose reputable providers that maintain recognised security practices. Where we assist with an insurance claim, we share relevant details with your insurer at your request.
6. How long we keep it
The website itself keeps nothing. Emails that reach our mailbox are kept only as long as we reasonably need them for the purpose you sent them — to complete a repair, to meet our record-keeping and tax obligations, or to consider you for a role — and are then deleted. You can ask us to delete your emails sooner at any time.
7. Security
The website is served over HTTPS, form traffic is rate-limited and validated, resume uploads are restricted by file type and size and checked before being forwarded, and submissions are not stored on the website. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information in transit and once it reaches our mailbox.
8. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete emails you have sent us — contact details are below. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
